Reproduced from an axe in a private collection, this superb replica has a high carbon blade and langets to protect the shaft. The pole axe has a long history of use. It was very popular in the lists, with the winner being decided by the number of blows fairly struck. It was also poular on the battlefield. With a well sharpened point, it could be used as a short spear. The back or spike could pierce armor and the axe head, itself, was quite lethal. Overall length, 68", head spike is 10" wide. Price includes $10 oversize package charge.
