Musketeer Rapier

The basket hilt on this elegant rapier is ambidextrous, and an effective mix of the cup-hilt and swept-hilt styles. The
wood grip is wrapped with twisted wire, and the hilt's parts are plated with gleaming nickel silver. Can be sharpened for an additional fee. Matching main gauche available (see below). Though the musket was the primary weapon of the French Musketeers, it was cumbersome to load and fire, so a good rapier was a necessary second weapon.
This Musketeer rapier is based on circa 1590 designs. 46" long overall, with a 37.5" blade, 1" wide.

Carried at the back for a left-hand draw, the main gauche was often brought into play with the rapier for a two-handed fighting style. The dagger has cut-outs and notches to slow or disrupt an opponent's blade, while the hand is well-protected by the knuckle bow. Can be sharpened for additional fee. 23" long overall, 17" blade, 1-1/2" wide.
