This rich velvet blouse with lace ruffles at the neck and cuffs is named for Mary Read, a real female pirate who, with Ann Bonney sailed as part of Jack "Calico Jack" Rackham's crew, while posing as men. By all reports, they were some of the fiercest fighters aboard the ship, and no one suspected they were women.
