This type of sword was in use for a long period of time throughout Europe. It is an Oakeshott Type X with a Type I pommel and Type VII crossguard. The long, wide fuller on the blade lightens the overall sword, for fast, shearing cuts that are capable of cutting through mail and padding worn during the period. The long guard offers good proection from an opponent's shield or blade. The classic wheel pommel brings the sword nicely into balance. The sword is 39-1/2" long overall, with a 33" blade is 33" long that is 2" wide. Sold unsharpened, but can be sharpened for an additional fee.
