We have added mail to these black leather gauntlets to protect the back of the hands. Slightly cupped steel lames all around the cuffs, offer good protection to the hands, wrists and lower arms from sword slashes or draw cuts. Rather than add decorative touches like some displayed in museums, we have left ours plain to keep the price down and enable them to be historically correct from the Early Middle Ages well into the Renaissance. Sizes XS, S, M, L and XL.
